This album was born out of an idea I had after composing the title track. I had ripped some audio of my friend Emily from a movie she was in to line up with a track for another project, and I was astounded by how well her voice worked in an ambient context. I asked if she recorded her dreams at all, and she came through in a big way.

Dreams have always been an interesting concept to me, and I structured the album to mimic the way a long dream evolves, from those opening moments of lucidity where everything still seems normal, albeit with a veil draped over it, to the point where you're catapulted head over heels through your dreams and desperately trying to keep up. I had written a number of piano tracks for a documentary that never ended up getting used, and upon further listening they fit the concept beautifully.

Thanks to Kara Kuntz for putting up with my vague ideas for album art, to Emily Tomasik for sparking my inspiration (and for allowing me to take liberties with her audio), and for everyone who's listened.
